It was pretty cool to see how insanely earnest everyone got this weekend about MCA’s death. And you can see why: he was relentlessly creative and funny, plus he had a functional heart and brain and never stopped growing as an artist. That combination is pretty much the unobtainium of pop music. Like everyone else, I have nothing but awesome memories attached to the Beastie Boys and cancer can fuck off forever. RIP Adam
